Have a check of the rules and regulations, 'Gifts' are not exempt. you are allowed about €20 import tax free (I think but dont quote me). 'Gifts' are subject to import duty.

Speedy, have a check of the website I posted earlier in this thread. I was shocked when I found out that gifts were subject to VAT and the usual crap. Oh and BTW you import something within the UK and you can be subject to VAT also, that was a REAL shock for me.
Not every package is actually checked. I have a "friend" who has bought a few things and not had to pay anything extra.
If you budget to pay an extra 21% on top of cost of goods and shipping, that should be about right. If you dont get the extra bill, you are laughing......
