I am heading out to florida in three weeks for a holiday.

while i am there i intend to pick up a few bits and pieces at the PSP world cup in disney, possibly a new marker and masks, other odds and sods.

has anyone ever had any problems bringing their stuff home in suitcases at the airports?

specifically Dublin airport but any advice/help is welcomed..........

cheers,

It will make it ezer if you are able to bring back a full set up and not have it in its boxes etc, then you may be able to get away with saying you brought it over to the states to play with.

Apart from the hassle you might expect if you're taking something that looks like a gun into the country, if they decide it is new then you will be charged import duty on it, which can be anything up to about 30% of its value. So if possible remove all packaging, so it looks used, and make sure any receipts etc. are kept out of sight.

Or while you're over there post it to yourself and mark the customs label as a gift - (so you don't get charged import duty!);)

- just depends on how much postage is - I know a few people who've done it before but not with anything as heavy as a marker!?

I've flown in with 4 markers in a bag before. Got stopped once but having a dirty playing top and the usual kit bag stench convinced them I went to play.

Only problem has ever been weight, and don't have the packaging if you get stopped in the green line.

if you post it to your self as a gift you will still need to pay inport duty and tax .
Its the tax thats the killer import on a marker is only about 3%
get a paint ball and break it open rub the paint on the inside of the barrel and a bit on the out side then its used not new and lob the packing ,old playing kit is good as well .
if you have a players pass put that in as it all helps.
I would tell them in the us you have it in your bag to cover your self and it should be no problems .

Wouldnt they have Scanners at the entrance so if you had luggage with a marker (resembles a gun) wouldnt u get stopped?
