Chris,

I'm assuming you're on about the Vortex Impellor for the revy.

There is a small news piece on Warpig, here that deals with the impellor.

I've heard people say good things and bad things and many of the comments seem to be indifferent to it's performance.

Personally I ran two 12V revvy full to the lid into another container one with the impellor and one without and when they contain a lot of paint I found that there's no difference.

The difference I noticed was when the paint is low in the hopper. The standard 4 blade simply agitates the paint around the hopper and can cause it to miss the feed neck.

The impellor catches the paint inside the loop of the paddle and because of the angle appears to throw the paint into the feed neck it's not a lot but it does noticably feed small amounts of paint better.

For £8 or whatever they are I thought it was worth while. I've never had a feed problem since I installed it.

But then I might just be imagining things ;)

The impera has 6 paddles, the other has 4, so it should improve loading speed by 50%

Ooh Ooh

Can we turn this into another physics thread? Please...pretty please, where's Robbo and Hotpoint and Manike? It's gotta be better than discussing the RL ;)

Seriously How, I'd love to know how you worked that out...

Can't see much change with the new impellor on mine either, but the X board seems a bit "poakier"(is that a word ?)

The Revolution with equipped Vortex Impeller doesn't feed faster. The only difference is when there are only some balls in the hopper. The Vortex Impeller throws them near the feedneck, compared to the usual Impeller who throws the last balls around in the hopper. The Vortex Impeller is a really nice tune-up for really less money.

If you want to have something faster feeding, get a HALO B, but they are just heeeeeaaaavyyy....

Easy solution for this "quest".

Usual Impeller - 4 paddles
Vortex Impeller - 6 paddles

That are 2 paddles or 50% more, so the Vortex Impeller feeds 50% faster, got it?! *bg*

I hope that's a VERY big grin dude or we'll set the physics bods on you :D :D ;)
