You should try New Zeland, my brother picked up an orange in the business lounge in Sydney before we flew there, arrived and he got a £200 fine, and his passport details are now in the New Zeland and i quote the officer "people to watch list" due to the fact he was smuggling fruit....boy are some people job worthy..... I have reason to believe it was put ina secure environment and burned at 500 degrees.

It is actually (and unfortunately) quite normal to pay for a visa, not just in the US. So if you wanna stick to that rule, you'd never leave the EC.

I've never had any problems with US immigration, infact by some very weird coincidence had the same officer 3 times in a row on seperate visits to Las Vegas (it's an annual thing). He recognised his signature in my passport and was more than polite, we even spoke about clubs to go to.

The wife however, always has an absolute mare. Last time they put her through the "Special" security queue with all the Middle Easten people for a go in the explosives sniffer. And I always though the Americans loved the Irish! Being a gentlemen I said I'll queue up with her so I had a go too, but they shooed me on whilst taking apart everyone elses bags, shoes, laptops etc etc. Gave me time fo one more Sam Adams in the departure lounge whilst she was getting strip searched.
