long story

Im up ate court offices tomorrow so il see if i can mine up a full copy of the firew arms act and get it interpreted by a judge.

too be classed as a fire arm it has to fit into certain catagories lol.

3 shot burst is illeagal as it fires more then one shot per trigger pull

sorry about the vauge insurance comment before, it is just that most punter hunter feilds are on a near identicle contract that disallows ramping.

the thing that is the only grey area is a triger pull, as ramping relies on what a triger pull is.il see if i can get a solid on the record word on what a trigger pull is from my old boss (i worked in the leagal (boring) part of the firearms office lol) who is now a judge. Before i go, any other questioons for him?

That over shoot example would not be classed as a break of firearms law but as a assault or GBH, but as you both signed a waiver and were both there to play paintball, it would never get near a court.

Arent some tournies held on punter-hunter fields? How do they get insurance? Do they just pay more? Or just not say anything? :)

Yeah trigger pulls are an issue. It was easier with mechs, its obvious what a trigger pull is. With microswitches its far harder.

I disagree about the waiver. People sign it agreeing that they are willing to be shot. I think any hack-lawyer could tear a waiver to pieces in court if their client got bonus-balled (for example while walking off or even just in general). There is acceptable shooting and over-shooting. GBH may come into it. Wasnt there a furore about the whole Chris LaSoya thing a while ago, saying in any other sport it would have gone further?

Shooting in you back garden is against the law anywaysm you have to be so far away from a road (cant remember the right number myself)

the firearms act has a massive grey gaping whole in it, and we are right in the ****ing middle!

the problem is a triger pull, what is one defines whether ramping is illeagal. Also this takes us up onto the velocity rules. a 'firearm' cannot fire anything above so many lb per square inch. But we arnt sure whether a marker is a firearm are we?

we need a industry wide meeting for the whole sport to organise this, as it effects us all. This should be a matter of paramount improtance for the ukpsf but it aint, they would rather stay in the dark and if we are doing somthing ileagal, we would be in the deep **** for it! I would rather have a industry wide meeting to make a real go at this and recomend a ammendment to the 'Firearms act' to make a nice big clear ******* bullseye with a leagal or not legal line

Is it? Im reasonably confident that that is incorrect. I can do whatever I like (beastiality excluded) in my back garden, as long as I am over x-metres/yards/whatever from a 'public highway' and in no way endangering the health + safety of anyone else (excluding the idiots who want to shoot each other!!)...

But yeah, totally agree with you. It would be nice to have some clear Home Office rules.

Semi auto
Fully auto
Burst
Ramping (and to what level)

Lets know exactly whats what. Isnt it the case that the legislation was brought in before a lot of the electronic enhancements, and that its probably slightly out of date for todays sport.
