Hi guys,

Having just returned from their Nations Cup all I will tell you is this, it would work out a lot cheaper than any millenium event you will do.
Yes, the flights will be a tad expensive but its a 13 hour flight you have to pay something, I do not think anyone would get it for free.
The hotels are very good the country is wonderful the food is so cheap you would'nt believe me. (first class hotel meal- £2.30, Double cheeseburger at Mc Ds - 0.35p) the people are great and the shopping is so cheap you could save more than it cost in buying what you can not afford to in the States/UK.
A few of the guys who went over this time will post on this and everyone will tell you they did not want to leave.
Other prices,

4* hotel including full breakfast £24.00 a room (sleeps two- per night)
taxi's a 45 minute trip cost £2.50 and the locals said he ripped us off!.
Jug of Lager (about eight glasses) £4.00.
DVD's 3 for £1.30.
X-box games (copies but look like the real deal) between 0.48p - £1.20p each.
Game boy advance sp. with 125 game cartridge, case, rechargeable battery, earphones and power lead - £52.00.
Cigs Benson+Hedges 200 for £6.00. (60p per pack).
1 gig sd memory card £50.00 or £60.00 for kingston memory.

The list could go on and on.

Russ

I will be going back and not just for paintball. (£30.00 for two hours);)

Hello!

This is brandon from Japan (but not japanese) dropping in and saying hi. Russell is right about the cost of the trip. When you look at tickets you will be floored at first glance, but your incedental expenses more than make up the difference.

This was my first trip in asia outside of Japan. Having lived in Germany, visiting lots of places in Europe, living all over the US, and knowing people from all over the world, i think it fair to say that Malaysia is a fantastic destination, not only for paintball, but for any kind of vacationing.

Pluss, where else is the player bus going to recieve a police escourt when you go out the first night?

Generally the prices in Malaysia are very cheap which make up a bit for the cost of air fare. We were very lucky and were invited to play and so got a 'very good deal' on travel arranged by Paul, the Malaysian Nation Cup organiser.

If you're thinking of travelling to Asia for an event one thing you need to consider is your paint bill. In Europe we generally have the luxury of buying our paint at tournaments from our sponsor/supplier at 'team rates'. Last weekend's Nation Cup was sop (one brand) and no byo was allowed. Our 5-man team paint bill was in the region of £900 so we were fortunate that we won and were able to offset the £700 prize money against our paint costs!

I'm not being disrespectful to the tournament organisers by saying this, we knew the price of paint before we went. Paintball is a smaller business there, and so the cost of paint is higher.

Would i go back? YES!!!
