If your covering your gear on your contents insurence, (which I do), check the small print to ensure its covered in transit and not just in your home !!!!

Make sure u check with your insurance company and see where exactly out of the home they will insure it.
For example, some will say while the stuff is in your care like a hotel room, but wont cover it while it is on a plane. Some offer limited cover in a car i.e. only in the boot of the car and then the cover might be limited to £1000. Only found one insurance company that does cover for the full amount out of the home - AXA 'ABC' policy - they will cover upto £7500 outside of the home.

Not wanting to look silly but what if u dont have house and contents insurance, is there any way of insuring it on its own?
if you dont have contents you dont have any cover. cant insure the gear without contents...................................nationwides cover does cover any item upto the price of £1500. anything over that you have to specify but as gun and air can be seen as seperate you dont have to declaire it. dont know if everywhere else is the same.
