On the Millennium website you can find the dates for the Iberia Cup, held in Madrid, Spain. This will be the event replacing the Mega, since the Mega will be a Partner event.

The dates for the Partner Events will be announced later on.

Madrid sounds wonderful. But at the end of July (July 30 - August 1)? That's the time sane people in Southern Europe head north!

Please re-think! Hook up with Nick Brockdorff and think Copenhagen!

Or do a switch with Magued and do Madrid as the first in the series in late February or in March. And do Stockholm in July or early August.

Madrid has got to be scorching hot at that time of year.

Madrid at end of July will be like having a blow torch stuck up yer ass in an oven on a hot day in the desert !

Barcelona would be ok because it's on the coast but Madrid....oh my God !!!!!

Please think again :)

i can see it now, its not the first team to shoot 7 players out, its the team that has the most players not on the ground dieing of heat exhaustion:) 48C?????? thats crazy mad!! ive played in like 30C and then with no pads on and just a jersey (trousers etc obviously) i was boiling and so was everyone else.

also, think of the marshalls, they have to stand in that all day:eek:

I hate to be a nay-sayer but I fear the worst concerning the scheduling of some of the Millennium events.

As nice as it would be to start the Mil season early with a Stockholm event in February, I'm afraid not many teams will sign up for a winter event in a far northern city, even if it is indoors. I think many peeps would rather spend a couple of hundred more euros and head to Huntington Beach a little later.

Then Madrid at the hottest time of year? Ditto. I don't think many teams will attend that one either. And if they do, I don't think you'll be able to find judges who would even take money to do that one.

Somehow we've got to switch the north to the south and vice versa.

did field research in sierra norte (just north of madrid) sept 01 (so remote i did not hear about 9-11 for 3 days).

it was dry, hot and bl00dy hot - temp hit 44 one day and supposedly it had been hotter.

i agree it would not be a good idea to play then

common sense would have Sweden and Spain switch dates, but the promoters have it in their heads that the dates will be as such... so i guess some of you will be sweatting buckets in July and some of you will be freezing your @ss off in February,

Vote with your feet! (and wallets)

Sweden will be indoors, so that is not a problem. I assume the temperature will be perfect where we play.

But Spain.... Karlijn: pleasepleaseplease tell me that we are going to play indoors there as well! Or at least up in the mountains, like Avila or somewhere similar cool(er) place.
