He did mean that...over here if you can buy food and other things and its big in size we call them supermarkets.

As for people not knowing what to do as far as selling paintball equipment. Sports Authority in Kissemee, the staff there know jack ****. 2 cups ago I needed CO2 for my Shocker to test out (I always fly out early btw) ...took my .68 tank in to get it filled...ok very very expensive but I needed the gas, the guy didn't have a clue how to fill the tank as he had never even seen a tank that size...chilling down was an alien concept to him. but think about the mentality of selling paintball markers in a store like Micah mentions...whats the worst that could happen? the other stock can KILL, so will they care about staff training...don't think so. Just another part of the inventory to make a profit from.

mark...just the fact that they have untrained staff filling co2 bottles worries me!
....i can understand that sports shops would want to stock pb gear as they can make a nice profit from it but they should at least make sure they have someone on hand who knows what they are doing! think someone already said exactly what i was thinking 'its a law suit waiting to happen!'

Unfortunately this is the case with so many products, not just paintball.
A guy in a sportstore will be happy to sell you a pair of inline skates without ever mentioning wristguards and stuff. Next thing you know, you've got a 12 year old with broken arms. Or a parttimer at footlocker will be more than happy to sell you the completely wrong pair of shoes to play American Football with. Et voila (that's French), a broken ankle is the sad result.
It relates to more than just paintball, there is hardly any good staff around these days. Unfortunately, the problem with paintball is that where a niche market, and therefore easily pointed at, and when it goes wrong with paintball, it's spectacular!

And as 4 just going into a shop and buying a shotgun, well in America if you even tried to take that so called "liberty" away from them, they will jump on you with so mnay law suits, it will make your balls burst....literally *ahem*

So if I were to walk up to a WalMart counter and ask to buy a shotgun they'd just hand it over no questions asked?

Do the people discussing this even live in the US??

I think that they do some sort of background check on you first though to make sure you arent crazy or have commited a felony. But at my local Wal-Mart they sell paintball stuff in the same area that sells guns and I think that that gives people who dont know much about paintball the wrong idea.

I live here.

Umm, NO. If you asked to buy a Shotgun NOW, you would have to wait for it with a background check, at least form a chain like Walmart or K-Mart.

And you can't walk into a grocery store and buy ammunition or firearms niether... If you guys want, I'll find out the local laws on buying a firearm from a commercial store (Walmart / Kmart)?
