lol  similar thing has just happened with my sister and some bloke. minor scratch would of probobly buffed out, however the guy wanted to go through insurance and my sister wanted to pay out of insurance. (to save her NCB) however because bodyshops don't like to just say oh yes that will only need a little lick of paint, but rather ooooooooooo uuummmmmm ahhhhhhhh full paint job on that there bumper she's payin about £160 odd for nothing reli. at the end of the day, thats what insurance is for though.

yes  if someone goes into the back of you its their fault (with in reason) its because they 'are not' paying attention apparently. in that case just for the shear hell of it to avaid insurance calims against urself even drive in reverse for a while :)

Now....If I'd have been there at the time I would of grabbed her by the hair and smashed her head in with the door ala Vinny Jones in Lock Stock.
Now..Now..there's no need to resort to physical violence, as you know even if it was the third parties fault all would be thrown out if it was resolved in this manner..

shame on you...:p

i though in most scenarios if you get hit up the back side its the other drivers fault i might be totally wrong but its what i heard!!!
Don't think...It hurts...

Cliff...;)

i had bang one week into driving my first car, i braked and woman ran into back of me,
when i pulled up she started yelling at me for stopping before entering an area i couldent enter (you know, a no stop zone the criss cross yellow lines) cos car was blocking exit,

she soon stopped when i remined her of the hiway code and said i saw her on her phone!!

luckyly there was no damage in my case, if she does get into contact then just reminder of what SHE did wrong.
i know i was refering to this comment arkitech

it's classed as a 'knock for knock' situation and if she wants to claim it will be off her own insurance.

yours and hers insurance company's won't even try and entertain arguing who was at 'fault'.

don't worry about it.

if she does try though go round her house at night a swing a pick axe into the roof of her car.....she'll get the idea then.....( use gloves)...lol

Hi Guys

can anyone in the know help?

I just went to the shop to get something to eat, on the way there i drove into a issue!

the road has alot of parked cars on the one side, i drive through as its myright of way and usually everyone pulls into the open spots to let the right of way through.

got to the usual spot and another 2 cars came through even though i was half way so i stopped and let them pull in however the last car didnt fit and when i drove off as we where next to each other i managed to scrape the car. it wasnt bad, has just cause 2 slight scraps on the bumpers of both cars resulting in the paint coming off but not the undercoat.

i stopped and so did the other driver who was shaking after the ordeal or so she said.

anyway she said it was my fault and took my details, as we both didnt want to put this through the insurance companies i gave her my number as she said she was going to get a quote for how much to get the bumper resprayed.

now i wasnt going to do anything to my car as its just unlucky but she is insisting i pay for repairs to her car?

now any idea how much im looking at or should i get the insurance companies involved for 2 minor scrapes? and when i mean minor it is tiny.

cheers
was her car moving or stationary.?
