Old thread I know, but since Fox sport have a kind of Paintball programme in the US, wondered if anyone had bothered to start an online petition (there are a number of purpose websites for doing as such) for getting paintball on TV here in the UK, say to submit to Sky? Could link to it on the PGI website or in the mag itself, could send flyers to paintball fields with the webby address on. Or they could each have a hand written petition to be sent as well. They could ask people to sign up when they sign in for a game of paintball.

Maybe get the official support or sponsorship for the petition from the likes of PGI, WDP, The Millennium series, Pro teams, etc to add weight to it?

Maybe have the petition point out the growing interest, the numbers of players, the sponsorships, the numbers at tournments or rec-balling events, the spectator friendly formats, the increase in media coverage and money into the sport, etc. Include images of the tournments, tell them about the DVDs, the US paintball sports show etc. Since for all we know, those big TV bosses might still think Paintball is still played in woods only and just a load of people on a weekend playing war games and isn't well organised or even a sport and just dismiss it.

As said before, end of the day they will not be interested unless there are potential good viewing figures and money involved. Least a petition would give them an idea of the numbers. Which if reasonably high enough, is better than us complaining on a webboard, just a few asking or not asking at all. Or is it just a stupid idea and we should only complain about no TV coverage between ourselves like true brits, rather than stand up, be counted and make a fuss?

Off the top of my head, there are two reasons that paintball is not in the xgames. Number one is that paintball is a team sport whereas all of the sports in the xgames are individual sports, thus it wouldn't fit in with their theme (I believe this was a reason specified by organizers of the xgames). The other reason is that there is a rumor of bad blood between espn and some of the lead tournament organizers in the sport.
