-noone wants to practice, just jump in a tourney and then bitch and moan when we get our asses handed to us
-noone wants to play one position, back men want to play front also???
-everyone spends big bucks on it, but never does it, just buy an air fill and some paint and let her rip in your back yard and brag about how fast you did it
-we're all friends, but everyone wants to ditch someone else when it comes to players...instead of two 3man teams, ditch 2 people and have one 3man team with four players...pick them back up for 5man
-talk about having a meeting to discuss this stuff, and they all say they are willing to put more effort in, and then go back behind someones back with something else

what to do?

Mother, is that you?
Jeremy, are you and your mates new to the game?

It might just be everyone wants to get it out of their system? I'd give it a month, and if the guys haven't settled down, then I'd take TJs advice and join a team.

well it was just a bunch of friends playing woodsball, then we got introduced to speedball and got more into that, cut out out people so it was just us 5 main friends. got into tourneys' and everyone started heavily upgrading, last year was our first year in speedball and tourneys. now we have another friend into it, so we could have two 3 mans. talked to our captain and i want to work with everyone and put everyone where they have the most potential and would help the team out the most. some are cool with it but some have a problem, like the new kid, hes' 21 not sure how short, but very, 120lbs, fast...then my nephew (older than me) hes' 22, about 6', 180-200lbs, prolly 2nd loudest on team, wants to play front...it makes me just want to quit paintball because i know it will be like last year with everyone complaining all the time. our loudest, biggest guy is ok with playing back but he always said he liked front and wanted to play front and we let him, and he did good, but to make a team, we need him in the back, because it is a team game...i just cant' get it through to everyone

Get em to read tha interviews in PGI magazine with Rich Telford and Todd Adamson - these are some of the bext back guys in the world and the make back seem sexy.

Everyone thinks front is glory but back guys are becoming ore and more important as the game advances - maybe if you tell these guys they are playing the most crucial role on the team it'll help?

if they are not going to listen to how the team members are best utilised in playing positions then they sure as hell aren't going to stick to any game plan. sounds like u have a bunch of glory hunter bunker monekys!

go join a proper structured team and just use your m8's as target practice :D

Seems to me the back guys are the artillery.. lay as much paint as possible, keep the other team pinned, your eye's open, and communicate as much useful information as possible to the rest of your team. They also tend to get targeted heavily.

The Mid positions seem to be where the Headquarters is... mid's aren't in the immediate danger that the fronts are and tend to spend more time listening and looking than everyone else. I think Mid tends to be where the plays are called from.

Fronts are the grunts. They exploit the gaps and opportunites, either as they see them or as directed by the rest of the team. They also get the glory of mugging and flag running.

No one part of the team can do their job without the support of the others. Your 'team' sounds more like a collection of individuals. If they can't work together for a common end take TJ's advice and find a team you'll be happy with.

Yep, but remember why you're playing in the first place - fun, and perhaps playing different positions is all about enjoying yourself and experiencing the game. Cripes, I'd hate to be told to play 'back' and that's all I've got to look forward to.

You've only had a season; I say stick with it, let people move around and eventually the big geezer will get fed up of being shot out up front, and start to move to what is his natural position.

It's early days mate. You're obviously a bit more ambitious than the others, so I wouldn't imagine you're going to be with em for the rest of your playing life, but in the meantime learn what you can from every position on the field.

Good luck.
