hey mark, i got a chance to dive straight in just by asking around. people around here will help you out no problem, there nice people. as for starting a team, i wouldnt jump the gun, even people who have been playing tourney for a long time can find it hard.

I really DONT want to put you off m8 but I've helped start ( with one or two m8's ) Two teams in the last 5 years ( Tsunami & my NEW team Bournemouth Riptide ) And it's really really not that easy sometimes !! IF you can weather the bad times that will come along then you've got a fighting chance you will lose players along the way to better teams so dont let it get you down just keep plugging away and with a little luck and ALOT of hard work it will all come good !! I wish you all the best ;)

it is hard work to set your own team up, but aren't all the best things in life worht a little hard work.

the key I found was to get two/three core players who also want to set up a team and do it together. Yeah you lose players and yeah it costs a bit in the beginning but its worth it.

We just kept going down to our local site, got freindly with the local teams (epoch and section 8) and began training with them. They've been absolutely fantastic with help and advice. They also helped us with things like what tourneys to start with.

We also started marshalling down the site and before long the core of three turned into 9 members. Granted we've lost a few but we still have seven.

The key to it all is communication, dont just get together for training and tourneys. meet up for marshalling and the odd team building sessions(usually involving copious amounts alcohol). and most important of all dont give up. Its been pretty hard graft getting to where we are now but we are playing in our first tourney at the Welsh open and cant wait for it.

Good luck dude and enjoy
