How Old Is Old?

I’ve just had my 39 birthday and I thought god Im getting old, ill be 40 next year, were has all the time gone.

I played my first game of paintball back in 1987 and I have been very lucky to have played all over the world in some of the biggest events. Hay I remember when Robbo had hair and the team to beat was the “Thunderbirds” in blue plastic overalls and the “Bart Stud Sq” all in black.

All my mates that I started playing with are just as old as I am and had given up a long time ago, even I don’t play like I used to. So I was thinking how many other old geezers out their have seen the years roll right by regarding paintball.

If the nice people at P8Ball could do a little survey regarding how old are some of the balers are out their, ie teens / 20’s / 30’s / 40’s / 50’s / 60+.

Like I said the more I play, the older I fill and the younger the players are now. Do we need an OAP league for us old boys? Bully’s over 35’s is a great idea and should be expanded to 4 times a year.

Well come on, Im sure Im going to get some abuse from the younger player, but hay who give a s*@t at my age.

I played my first game back in 1991 at the National Paintball Fields.

Sterling STP, remember those lol, quality pump action marker, the one to have back in the day and then the Sam Patriot came out, semi auto, god thoes were the days

Just in case you were wondering, i'm 38, only a year younger than you mate but I wouldn't say we were old, just more experianced

39, started in 1989, still hitting the 50 and 3 seconds later hitting the dead box

43 in three weeks and still captain started up front now at the back and still up before the alarm clock on torny day and had many a good game against you jinxy

Its amazing ant it, I do a post about the classic player then I notice Marcus Davis from the Predators has come out of retirement and restarting the team.

If I was 20 years younger I would jump at the chance to play for the Predators, Marcus use to pull some crazy s@*t I can tell you.

Like I said, it seems there is a lot of us classical players out their. Let us know how long you been playing. See if we can find a dinosaur player, if I remember paintball started in the USA back in 1982 ish but I could be wrong.

I started in 1989 with issue 2 of Paintball Games Magazine (now the mighty colossus that is PGI), and was feeling pretty old and crusty getting told how it is by players who weren't born when I had my first game, but on Sunday I got shot by Mr Cain. Senior. Talk about deja vu.....

not mad old , 34, but i did start playing in 1988 for a mates work gathering and now own and run a site. i try to get across the big water as much as i can to tournys , so i guess ive still got the bug
