Weekly with the team (tournament permitting) then I normally do drills (snapping, sliding, sweetspotting, Running/gunning) on my own at least once a week to keep my core skill levels up so as to make the most out of team training.
Yeah, it is expensive, don't be naive about it, to play every weekend and compete at a high level (MS/NPPL etc) will cost you a LOT of time and money. Its a choice that you have to make. At the risk of starting a torrent of "I've given up *insert here*" posts, you do have to make sacrifices if you're really serious about becoming the best player you can be.
As for me, I'm in the last year of 6th form, just finishing my A levels and I don't have the time to do a regular job after college (long commute etc) and most my weekends are taken up with training, so yeah, you do have to make lifestyle choices and sacrifices and rough it financially. Its really just a matter of priorities.
Hopefully next year will be easier (university so plenty of loans and grants, and hopefully should get a scholarship).
