how much is import duty on a marker

how much import duty would i pay on a marker bought from the states or canada if the value is approx £900 and then do you pay vat on the marker +vat on the duty

Neill, haven't we been through this before last week???

22.5% on top of the value of the goods. Some couriers also charge a clearance charge, recon on about £15-20 for this.

If you have any queries just phone customs and excise, they are jolly helpful people :)

depends on how they fill the customs declaration form in mate......


think ,and i maybe wrong but its in the range of 23% of the total invoice including shipping.......

ive got a grand to spend and in us dollars =$1700 or can$2200 and the alias from canada is $1850inc shippin and $1500us but tryin to find one in the states at the moment is like finding lord lucan

a good friend of mine who has a business and regularly ships markers over, from the states says their is no duty to pay on complete markers its on on the parts, obviously VAT still is there...


only what i heard you may wanna check that out...

Try getting the despatchers to declare it as second hand and drop the invoice value! It will help drop the tax added but will balls up your insurance if you make a claim!

Or RISKY!

Find a freind in the USA who will send it too you as a gift!

Gifts over about £20 still have to have tax paid on them.

Few paintball companies will risk their export licence by falsifying (sp!) goods values. Would you if it was your business?
