Paul,

Do you mean paid as in paid to play on team X and just that, or play for team X and work for one of their sponsors?

I don't see it happening within five years, unless, like you said, what constitutes a pro player changes. As things are now....nah.

And J@mes....we're not Germany. We're Holland. Drugs are legal. Hoes are legal. You think we'd be bothered by something that shoots paint?

Damn right brother.

I passed out twice in the red light bar, amazing!

Not only are the ladies legal. Some of them are damn good looking too, and at £35 a 'pop' beats a night in soho hands down.

£35? is that all it costs to lose your dignity these days?

Buddha bbc3 is awful. Especially that program.

All Pro players will get paid when paintball starts taking itslef seriously. i.e. never.

in order for all the pro players to start getting paid a descent wage. The sport needs to become alot more well known to the public outside of paintball because if u mention it to the average jo on the street and they think of running round woods trying to be rambo.
What is needed is for all the powers that be in the sport coming together and marketing the sport to get more interest and once the interest grows it may for example get events like millenium shown on sky sports (for crist sake they show fish comps on sky). But without the interest this wont happen.
I truth i cant see it leaping forward to much for atleast 5yrs or so and even then it may only be as big in the uk as it now in the states.

It took Rugby until the 1990's to be professional and team players paid, so I doubt that pro paintballers will be paid for sometime to come yet. There isn't the return for the money at the moment, especially with no lucrative TV deals.

The way things are going at the moment in terms of growth, outside sponsors and TV deals actually in the bag, the future looks bleak if all pros being paid is what you are looking at.
In fact, I would go as far to say, it ain't ever gonna happen the way things look now, especially in Europe !!!!!!

Sad but true.

Jay, I mean paid to play for whatever team they play for. But again, I'm not suggesting pie in the sky living on easy street money. Nor am I considering the situation anywhere but the U.S.
Can I give you chapter and verse on how and why? I can't but as you know I tend to be a glass half empty kinda guy and I see it happening in the time frame I'm suggesting. We will see.
I'm in a predictive mood of late--sent Beaks a predictions for 2007 VIEW a couple of days ago and sent the Maestro a sneak peek. No one will take my predictions seriously at all but he figured I could bat .500 despite how outlandish they sound.

how long do people thing it will take for prety much every pro baller to get paid and if not that at least in europe, ino its not an easy question but i am just wondering what other people thought...:)
a long time
take cs only 2 teams in the uk make a living out of cs and the sport i know its not realy has a lot more sponsors and and money put into it than paintball and its been only 2 for over 5 years now

take the cpl finals over 500,000 people where watching the final 3 years ago and if a pastime with that sort of fanbase cant get full sponsors I dont think paintball in europe will ever

and a real sports version is badminton one of the most watched sports in the world far east i know but former British champions struggle to even get the money to go to the big tornys

same with judo

both the above have more people take part and involved with existing worldwide federations

IMHO, Only in the last 3-4 years (i.e. since Sergei started showing everyone how to do it) have even the "pro" teams realised that if they are to stand any chance of being treated as professional athletes, they have to act like them. See how professional athletes train, eat, live. If you think it's an easy way to put food on your plate and a roof over your head, it's not.
