A thread i read on here somewhere mentioned transfer fees, and i was thinking, most if not all team sports have a transfer system. whether it's the draft in the NFL, or the football leagues, we see players switching teams for huge amounts of money.

so my question, do you people think that we will ever see a transfer market/system in paintball?

i'll leave it open to discussion about contracts, wages etc as im not too sure on this side of the game.

so, thoughts?

In my opinion, i think not...never!

The only problem with this idea is that there is only really a handfull of teams (U.S.A) that can afford to pay players so to put all the effort in of creating a transfer window, official contract agreements and scouting etc... just wouldn't be worth it.

Especially in England, i don't really think there will be any chance of it happening.

I'd say we'll get it pretty soon (well, in the US that is).
There are some players who get paid to play, as well as teams like Dynasty, who "own" the team collectively. All this involves contracts of some sort, and if a player decides to switch teams before the period of the contract expires, there will more likely than not be some transfer fee involved. Et voila, a transfer market is born.

I think it will catch on over here(U.K.) as well.

How many times has a team folded or had to start again, When players have moved on?

Teams will have to make players sign a contract, and that leads to a "transfer" before a player can move on.

The P.A. Leauge has rules in place to stop players being "poached" without the team managers consent, I think this is a good thing, and its only a matter of time before players are getting payed to play.

look at football and how that has changed. who would have thought when it was invented, players would be changing teams for £40million, or getting paid as much as they are.
ok the market for football is much larger, as anybody can play it, just get a ball, kick it around, football. paintball takes a whole lot more finance etc
but still, i think theres the possibility, more so in the USA yes, but still, its getting more serious in the UK with outside companies getting involved.

im not saying its going to start off at millions being paid for a player, that will, if ever, be years ahead.

Someone get a pin and pop this guys ego!!.

And i think that yes in a few years the when paintball becomes as big as other sports more than likely things like transfer fees will come about, but nothing starts high so i guess that the first players to be bought and sold for maybe for a couple of hundred, then eventually becoming more expensive.
