Are there any decent adjustable regs i could screw this into? Or is there a better way of doing things...
As i said it is basically just a spyder so i'd want a reg that i can then use again on markers i might buy later.
Well Sean,
I believe the foregrip is just a pass-through foregrip isn't it? I imagine someone out there has made an adaptor so you can attach a regular ASA on top regulator. I know as a last ditch effort, I'd be able to fit in a mini-cocker ASA adaptor in there, probably with a little help from a cutting wheel, a drill, and a thread cutter (1/8" NPT). Use the bright green/yellow loc-tite, or red if you don't have the other kind.
If you don't want to do that, e-mail Glenn Palmer or go to his website. He makes a regulator called a Stabilizer, and he sells a fitting that allows you to attach the reg. to the bottom of your grip frame. Just make sure you find out if the holes in your grip frame are in the Spyder pattern, or in the pattern that the rest of the world uses. If you don't see what you need online at his site, just ask him. He runs a custom shop and he's usually pretty willing to do special orders, for a fee.
If you can fit your current bottomline onto a long drop forward, and mount the drop forward onto your gun, then you can also mount an inline reg. into your bottomline ASA, and if it has a female ASA on it's bottom, you can mount a tank directly to it. The whole setup will be very long, and you probably will get a little movement just from the fact that everything is long.
Another option is to mount an inline reg. in place of the hose going down to the bottomline you have at the bottom of your grip frame. Yes, it can be done, and Palmer can sell you a reg that has 1/8" NPT holes on both ends, or you can just buy something like a bottomline ASA or a mini-cocker vert. ASA adaptor and some 90 degree 1/8" NPT elbows (if your paintball store doesn't have them, you can get them at a hardware store in the plumbing section, or an auto parts store).
Good luck, and if it seems like too much trouble, well, there's a reason you paid very little for the gun
Ray
PS Your instincts are right in what to change first on your gun...the reg. on your gun is very small, and it's very inexpensive.
