I thinks that may be a reference to the action being taken by Brass Eagle, (read Viewloader) over infringement of patent on the "motorised hopper using electronic eye" type things.

yea clunky they feel heavy and just don't sit well ontop of the marker to me....i dunno i guess i am just a VL partisan reactionary type.

12v muco better, but if you happen to have a 9v you can upgrade merely by just replacing the board (sometimes doing that will burn out the servo, but only rarely)
Board Upgrade
For a low-end marker like a spyder then the 9volt will be sufficient, but 12v is better, but of couse you can always upgrade (planet'll do the X-board upgrade)
But I cannot stress how good a price the £30 12volts are, so plan for the future a bit and get one!

I use the 12 volt on both my cocker and my spyder and it works fine. I haven't used a Halo, but my friend bought one Saturday. We went to the field, played one game. Battery died. Changed it. Halo wouldn't turn on. Don't know exactly what that means, Bob, but it can't be good. I used to use a 9 volt, but newer games and rates of fire outrun it pretty easy.
12v REV/ HALO.
I use a 12v Rev but a couple of the team are using Halos. They maybe a bit heavier but the rate of feed is fast and can keep up with any rate of fire. If u can put up with the increase in weight go with the halo.
