weren't sure where to stick this, so feel free to move if wrong place. well worth my 500th post

Was looking thru a rulebook revised for 2004 and noticed this:

"Each player may carry a maximum of two hoppers onto the field but only one may be attached to the paintball gun at one time. Only the hopper attached to the gun for the purpose of feeding and loading may be taken onto the field. If the hopper cannot be safely secured to the gun prior to the 30 second call then the referee can refuse to allow that player access to the field. The player may go onto the field without a hopper if they choose and will suffer no further penalty"

the way i read that is that u can take 2 hoppers on the field, only 1 can be attached to the gun, only the hopper used for feeding can be taken onto the field, so it kinda dont make sense?

Where's this from? It rings a bell from 6 months or more ago... i think it was worded slightly differently tho, something like 2 hoppers being allowed onto the field but only one being allowed onto the 'pitch' or 'playing area'? I did ask at the time and was told that a player can bring a back-up loader onto the field in case the one he has on his marker 'dies' before game on but only one can be used during a game/in the playing area. I can't remember who told me that tho!!

thats taken from the pa rules and gups is indeed correct, a player may take more than one hopper onto the field but only one on to the pitch

It does, I take two markers fully kitted out to the field at the PA....... if I fail a chrono or get a chop, then I just dump the spare at the chrono station...... essential with the fast turnaround at the PA. Other tourneys it's one marker/hopper per player. Got to remember that at the PA everyone is choronoed at the start of every game, so it's worth having spares. Two hoppers means you don't have to mess about switching if you have a problem.
