I dunno where this could be but I guess this is the right place :)

I'm SJ and i am from Sunderland and i am interested in taking up paintball as an "outdoor hobby" as i'm getting sick and tired of doing something that is'nt helping me as i am (admittenly) overweight. I am doing something about it and i thought that paintballing might help me overcome my issues along with my exercise sessions.

I have used a paintball marker before but just breifly as it was for one of them Army things that are at the international airshow and even then it was quite a while back!!

I know that its an expensive hobbie/sport but who knows what the future holds :)

Sorry for the expansive intro but its something that i want to do!!!

EDIT: I'm not 13, i'm actually hitting 20 in July ;)

Welcome mate - I'd scroll through the newbie section to pick up some basic knowledge and give you an idea of the prices involved in starting up (which isn't as much as you'd think). I'm sure someone will be along shortly from your neck of the woods to point you in the right direction of a good, local field. Get yourself down there and see if you enjoy it first :)

Thanks, but i think i'm going over these pages like a headless chicken (partly hate that expression) and i guess i do have a question: What would be a reccomended startup kit for me and how much will it cost as i like to know so i can save up and that stuff :)

I suggest you watch this...

and things like this one may help aswell...

a lot of TechPB's videos have helped me, they have a lot of decent informative videos!

Personally I wouldnt buy a starter pack that you may find on various websites, as they do offer some good things, but other items you will probably need to replace anyways.

In terms of first time buying It depends how much you want to spend, and what you really want to play which can influence you choice i.e. Woodsball or Sup air.

Things can be quite expensive, but paying the money will reep its long term benefits more than buying something because it is cheaper!

Have a browse on the for sale threads on these forums as you can find some bargains on there, and some decent things to start out with!

To be honest mate I dont have much knowledge about the best sort of gear to start with so im not really the best person to advise you, but I will tell you what I have which may give you a basic idea...

- 09 Proto SLG UL marker
- DYE Rotor hopper
- SCI air tank with Crossfire LP reg, but im buying a DYE Throttle air tank next month!
- V Force Profiler goggles.

hope that helps a bit!
