Welcome to the boards :)

Just have a good read around all the different threads and use the search button.

The NSPL will be the closest tournament series to you but that has finished now until next year.

You should look at getting yourself to some team training days, dont be put of by it, its the best way to learn.

So just get stuck in and dont buy new kit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And don't be put off by the winter weather....!!

Lots of resource on here, both written by using the search button and to hand by asking questions.

Also recognise that a lot of peeps on here are tourney players, and you may have it in your mind to just play walk-ons, but that subject is still very much relevant on here.

As for equipment recomendations, state your budget. Ion's are good starter markers, but becos a lot of manufacturers are releasing 2008 products a lot of very good 2005/2006 equipment including markers are getting cheaper almost by the day.

Search away before posting!

Welcome!

welcome ... the classifieds is an EXCELLENT place to pick up 2nd hand kit. the positives of this is that most of whats on there is upgraded and definately cheaper than buying new. if your after specific stuff then go into the wanted section and leave a note on what yer after. you'd be suprised at the kinda stuff you can find here. its definately a treasure chest for anyone into paintball.

good luck finding what yer after.

Thanks for the replys everyone. I am trying to decide what marker to go for.

Im not sure if i am going to be able to get air refills easlily so might have to go for a tippmann marker so i can use co2

But then i would be limiting myself to just woodsball i guess.

If i can find some air i was thinking of a ion maybe

Budget is around 200 quid

You will find air at any tournament site you train or play at :)

Budget for marker or budget for everything?

Don't go for Co2. Scuba stores can help you with a fill, if you have the right fill rig.

I have about 300 quid in total to spend on the whole kit.

I will probably try and buy second hand to get better bang for the buck :)

Plenty of 2nd hand gear on here.

If you have a local dive shop then Air isn't a problem - you can either get hold of / rent your own cylinder , then you can pick up a fill rig that'll let you fill your Marker tank from it.

The only thing I'd be slightly iffy about buying 2nd hand is a mask ( or more specifically the lens )

for the same reason its probably not a great idea to buy 2nd hand Motorbike helmets , you don't know what sort of life it's had ( particularly anything which could cause a lens failure - however most masks have easily replaceable lenses so its not a big issue. ) Given that the lens is the only thing that stands between your eyeball and 300 fps paintballs , you want to be confident about it :)
