The only other problem i found was the new rule brought in on sunday where the flag carrier got re chrono graphed and not one team capt was informed of the change of rules. all players were chroned on to the field as well and even a team was told to place 2 shots over the chrono because his first shot hit 295 then went 302 , this got him 1 4 1 . if rules are to change let people know and stick to them .
Steve,

Every Captain was informed about this change when they came on my field and they were told every game! I also gave opportunity to double-check guns against the field chrono after they had been chrono'd. Oh and the first shot was 313, not 295 ;) hence the 1-4-1 (on my own Captain too!:p )

Or would you rather allow people to play and win with guns over the limit?

EDIT: Forgot to add that this event had some of the most sportsman-like behaviour I have ever witnessed, I think that 90% of the players there didn't even need a Ref:cool:

Well all I can say is well done to the marshals !! It's a bl**dy thankless job and I for one wouldn't do it !! Also a big up to the marshals that were on field 2 when we played The Unknown for a place in the finals !They made a few mistakes but made there apoliges afterwards !! Which is the first time I've heard a marshal say sorry for years and years !!

I don't think its fair to say the Marshalls from field three, needed a white caine on day two. I was looking after their guide dogs, and those are some well trained dog, no need of a caine there I can tell you :D :D

In Syd's defence, I believe that he was let down at the last moment by a group of 'Qualified' Judges - certainly we were asked to bring as many Refs as we could muster, hence why I am now known as Gruppenfuhrer Von Pinki after my Stalin-esque version of Field Ultimate :D
Syd indeed tried his best to get some PA refs and we wanted to do it for many reasons.
In the end it was just a money thing but I am glad it seemed to go ok.
Believe me I do know what it's like to be let down at the last moment, But I did let him now on the monday and that did not leave him a lot of time to find any others.

Lets get this straight
HG2 was a nice event
was no better, no worse than most
was it worth travelling to
Yes if only to see what it was like
The marshalling was fine
except for the odd occasion
(you know the field)
The fields were interesting and challenging
There were some safety aspects
that were and some that weren't addressed
The players party MMMMmmmmm well ok
The organisation and running
seemed efficient yet strangely inconspicuous
We saw the usual bad call (no one is perfect) and
disgruntled player having a paddy

NOTE HARDLY HEARD AN ON FIELD SWEAR WORD
IN TWO WHOLE DAYS

All in all these are just minor niggles
It's a good tourney and will keep you southerners
happy. The guys in the midlands have it sorted
they have got good tournies all round.
Us northerners just have to save our pennies to keep travelling those distances
Looks like D7's will be the next one to try out
You guys in the SW need to dedicate some more time
to Syd and help him to provide you with the best

We felt we were on the end of some "dubious/inexperienced" calls or however youn wish to call. The event itself was great. I do think it highlights the need for a nationwide reffing scheme, for example the Paintball Association reffing initiative so that where ever you are playing you (in theory) get th same sort of level of reffing. In fairness i dont think any off the reffs set out to screw people over it was more a case of bad luck at that particular time. The only problem is that paintball is an expensive sport/hobby for the majority of players so we need to get something sorted so that posts like these are a thing of the past.:)

Well all said and done I've had ( When i was still playin for Tsunami ) Some really cr*p calls at the P.A and I've also seen them there as well so does it really make any odds all said and done
