Hey Guys and gals, Guess i shall introduce myself !

Ok my names pete usher, im 18 from Lincolnshire.
Ive been going paintballing for a while now at my local centre with a few friends and i think im getting ok at it (im sure other will tell me otherwise).

I've also looked at the teams list provided on the forum and there doesnt seem to be any from lincolnshire that i can see (that isnt shut down for the year)
I'm probably not ready to buy my own marker just yet unless i found out a team near me were recruiting

Thanks, Pete

Hey Pete,

I'm based in Lincolnshire too! Which site are you using? May I recommend Messingham Paintball Challange, personally I think its the best site in the area. Everyone down there is really helpful, and if you talk to the marshals I'm sure they'll be able to point you in the right direction :)

As for joining a team, while I'm not part of one myself I think the general consensus is that its better to have a gun before you join a team. I know alot of sites don't allow walk ons (people with their own guns) with rentals, but Messingham does. This means you can get to grasps with your marker before you join a team.

If you want any more advise drop me a PM!

have a look through the other threads buddy theres a wealth of advice regards where to start kit wise.

the general gist is to start with buying a decent mask, then a decent hopper then an air tank before buying the big spend of a marker,

indeed it is. I personally prefer DYE i4s but my team-mates are all e-vents fanbois :D

well tbh i wanted a decent mask, dont care about fogging up (well i do, but only because if i take my mask off to de-fog i risk my eyes) so i thought it was more important to protect my eyes as i need them for pretty much everything

You have to decide what type of marker you want. You could go for a speedball marker or a woodsball marker. Most people here would advise a speedball marker because they're generally faster :p . I'd have to agree as they keep up with the competition and you don't need to fork out rediculous amounts of money, but some people just like the MilSim look.

You have to consider a hopper and an air tank. A marker can only shoot as fast as the hopper feeds, and a lighter air tank is definitely worth the money. Have a look at the sales section on this website, or websites such as justpaintball or fatbobs if you want to buy new :)
