Well, if they sell 75 of 'em at 40 a piece they can cover the "extra" 3000 they got stuck for. I expect 25 jerseys will be more than sufficient for the team(s).

Btw, good job from the sound of it, England. (don't expect me to make a habit of it, tho. ;) )

If anyone finds out who played for US please post it. Thanx. :)

You have to ask the question - if I showed up to a tournament and got told that it was going to cost 100% more to play in what is no more than an exibition competition on the sideline I would tell them where to shove it (after some quick calls to sponsors to ensure that they would be happy with our decision)

At the end of the day players need to stand up to that kind of ****e.

Back on topic - sounds like a close match for the UK-USA encounter. Did it come down to fitness at the end (i.e. too many pies/pints for the UK lads ;))

A joke or a liberty

What could they do??

Refuse to play and lose the 3000 theyd already invested??

That would be my choice rather than be put over a barrel.

Shafted is one way of putting it

6000 euros - you have got to be f@cking kidding... What is that sound I hear - sounds like a heard of elephants... No, wait, it's the Millennium board running to hide after the next issue of PGI comes out.

If this is true - like Nick said, I too will reserve my judgement until I hear it from the horses mouth and not on some forum - and Denmark not having paid their money yet, I think I know what my vote will be in regards to whether we take part or not...

Can't wait to hear the explanation for this one...

goose

P.S. What I also want to know is - SINCE WHEN has saying something he might have to retract later, ever stopped Brockdorff from opening his pie hole??

Sounds like people are getting GREEDY, and doing it on the sly!
Not informing teams of the full cost until they have paid there deposits and then travelled great distances, basically means they "have you by the balls'. Last year it was the I.D. cards, what was the point of them?, just a money making scheme if you really think about it.
Those who have influence in our sport should not be able to abuse it!

Sounds like the US-UK game was pretty good. Good job to both teams :)

I thought US tournys were trying to be more like Mill events, not the other way around. Can't wait to hear the players comments post-event.

As always, Robbo tells it like it is and brings up some great points. Maybe Robbo should turn his sarcasm back on. Same great content but more amusing to read :D :D :D

Nick - if you want to sell one of those 75 extra Xball jerseys, I might take one off your hands. What can I say, I like to be different from everyone else (who all wear USA jerseys) :p

When all the teams say "no!" to extra charges like that - when they come out of the blue like that - then what would the series guys say ... be interesting.

That said I look forward to reading the "official" reason sometime over the weekend .....

but isnt X-ball the all loved way of the future?

and if it is why shouldnt we have to pay 6000 euros for it so we could play 4 games during the seasons? but isnt that kinda xpensive?

and id happily take a finnish X-ball jersey out of their hands but i dont know where they would come up with the 74 other guys!

seems like robbos beloved millenium board is plannning a trip to goa or maybe even aruba since theyre collecting money so early!

but as goose and nick said ill wait for the finnish teams to get home and then ask what the real thing was...

but ****ty this is indeed!

Update :-

They decided to U turn on the proposed start time change and began games at the more popular time of 8.00 am instead of 7.00 am (Putting that U turn in the little Millennium book along with all the others, am fast running out of pages)

Now consider this, Pedro, one of the Millennium promoters was originally against the idea of X-Ball running at his event because he believed it compromised his paintball business, that of Tomahawk Paintballs, because it would mean a field sprawling with Draxxus banners.

Now, major sponsors of the Millennium are for their investment given certain exposure via banners etc at each event, it is a contractual obligation entered into by the Millennium with any major sponsors.
Zap are one such sponsor and allegedly are entitled to 30 banners strewn around the site, they have 5.
Draxxus are entitled to one field full of banners and another 30, they have allegedly 4.

RP Scherer have bought and paid for a Sup 'Air field and paid for it to be used as one of the fields for this tournament, is it up ? Nope !!!!
I have just spoken to Simon Cole, representative of RP in Europe and he cannot get an answer from Pedro or any of the Millennium board as to why the field isn't there.
Is there a pattern forming here ?

Now who said the promoters would never allow their own interests to affect how they did business in the Millennium ?
