hi there, ive been looking at this thread:
http://www.p8ntballer-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=57004

and as i dont know anything about cockers i thaught i would ask a few questions to the people who do.

1
firstly on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being an old crappy mech cocker and 10 being an eclipsed karnivor, where would you place this?

2
i am very familiar with spyders and how they work but i dont understand the whole 3 way bit, what is it for?

3
is the stock trigger frame electronic? like my spyder, where the trigger presses a microswitch which tells the electronics to drop the sear?
or is it mechanical where the trigger is connected directly to the sear?
or is it just not similar to any spyder? if so can anyone explain?

4
the 3 way aparrently has a leak or is broken, is this a common problem or likely easy to fix?

5
does this marker have eyes?

6
would this be better than a stock trilogy pro?

7
are the nexus parts worth the price if i baught the gun, changed my mind then split the gun for parts?

ok i think that is it for now, so even if you can only answer a few questions i will appreciate it.

1) You can get better than an Eclipsed Karnivor to start with!
Sounds like a basic, Mech Focker (Fake Cocker, as it's not a WGP Cocker)..loosk nice enough..prolly a 5.

2) Erm...I did a post on Cockers a while back...found it HERE
Describes E-Bladed cockers.
Spyders are a Blowback marker...cockers are far more refined, and are really automated pump guns, hence "AutoCocker". The 3 way, is connected to teh trigger, and as you pull the trigger, diverts air between teh front and back of the ram, which is what opens and closes the bolt and cocks teh gun.

3) It doesnt come with teh electronic frame, as stated in the thread...but yes, electronic frames operate one or more solenoids, in order to cycle the gun.

4) A brand new 3 way would cost very little.

5) No...its mechanical

6) If your meaning, buy this or a new Trilogy Pro...dont buy new!

7) You will struggle to sell any cocker parts generaly, as they arent as popular as they used to be...but teh Nexus parts are very good.

In my opinion, if this gun is up for around £130...dont buy it...as you can get a nice Evolution cocker or similar for around £150, with and Eblade and all teh bells and whistles.

Spyders are pretty crap in comparison to a cocker.

I have purchased a couple of cockers, E-blades for £175 mark recently. Evos and Eclipse. These are E1s with Zero B boards.

Karnivores are a little more, £300 - £400 seems to be the going price.

Mech cockers are ok for use as mech cockers, the price of upgrading is prohibitative. Cheaper to sell the mech for peanuts and buy an already E-Bladed cocker.

Nexus DC1 £200- £250

Nexus DC2 £250 - £400

These are just approx prices of gats that have sold recently.

Cockers are so cheap now and the ones that sell are the ones with nicer milling, like the Nexus, Eclipse & Evolution ones.

Perfectly good markers and with the move to 15bps cap becoming widespread then they will hold their own with the best of them.

Personally I am fed up with lifeless gats and have bought a few just because they feel like a "proper" marker and they have character. (Nothing like popping out and getting a back block in your gogs to make you jump).
