Don't be swayed
Although you have received some really good advice on here regarding starting out, people will recomend the best of the best sometimes when perhaps as new to paintballing you'd best start with the cheaper equipment and work up. It happened to me on here.. buy this for x amount... buy that for x amount... however unfortunately we all do not have a money tree in our back garden (or rich parents). If you have one or both then fair play to you.
I'm 37 and had to start on a reasonably limited budget (due to buying carpets... wedding.. life and stuff) and managed to spend about £300 quid buying mainly off the classifieds here to obtain most of it.
I'm not quite sure how with my setup I would cope in a tournament, but I've played one walk-on and felt like my equipment worked fantastically and I used it with confidence. The only let down was me... but I'm sure I'll get better as I attend more.
For my £300 (approx) got the following
Smart Parts Ion
- with Q-lock neck
- with CP air on/off
Egg hopper with Z board
PMI 0.8L 3000psi air system with RedZ bottle cover
Dye Invision I3 red mask with HD lens and two spare clear ones.
Smart Parts 4+3 battlepack
Fatboy pots (140 capacity)
Barrel Sock
I would consider this minimum equipment for a walk-on. For tournaments I bow down to the experience of others.
Start with reasonably priced best equipment and if u really like, start to upgrade. That be my two penneth worth..
Hope helpful..
