ermmm, I've seen some tournament videos and it looks cool. Would love to get into the sport properly. Been saving up some money lately and I have decided that paintballing is definately the thing i want to spend it on (it's well worth it). So, what do you reckon is the gear to get for someone looking to get into tournament paintballing?
Cheeeeeeeeeers

I have read good things about the Smart Parts Ion, What's it like? It doesn't seem that expensive compared to other guns. What do you think?

ultimately mate how much do you have to (or want) to spend, IONs are a good starter marker although a bit cheaply made and need some minor upgrading pretty quickly

hmm. I wasn't looking to spend too much(as you can see, i don;t havve a clue how much paintballing gear costs:confused: ). Was hoping somebody would point me in the right direction of what sorta money I would need to spend? and where to go to buy it. Also, anyone know any decent paintballing shops in the Manchester/Salford area?

Well if you're looking to play tourneys i'd say look to spend around £500-£600 on a complete set-up including marker, hopper, air, mask, pack, and some playing gear if you're buying second hand. And maybe up to £1000 if your buying all new gear.
Not personally a big fan of ions, though for the money they are good value. For a starter marker i'd recomend E-Blade cockers, PM5's, Angel speeds.
For air i'd suggest any fibre wrap 1.1 4500 bottle with appropriate preset reg.
For Hoppers VL EVO II's are good if you're on a budget.
For masks i'd recomend JT proflex's, just a personal opinion cause i find them uber comfy.
For packs i've heard allot of good things about Nxe and DYE packs. Though if you're on a budget there are cheaper packs that do the same job.
For playing gear, whatever you like and can afford really. And knee and elbow pads come in handy aswell
Though many would probably disagree with me, these are my opinions. :)
Hope this helps.

Cheers,
My mum phoned them up there, she said they were really helpful. Might pop in soon. Anybody heard of On The Edge Events. They do walk-ons about 15 times a year or so i've heard. The owner of Planet Eclipse sold the place to them and i was wondering if the place is any good. I'm probably going to be at the walk-on on October 15th.
