Market research

I would expect an expansion chamber to sort the velocity out. Like Billy, I don't know tippman's but I will check on http://www.pbreview.com to see how people rate expansion chambers vs low pressure chamber.
You do have an anti-syphon don't you?

I thought they were different things.
Anyway I had a look and on Pbreview, and there is either the Tippman expansion chamber or a vert reg.

Neddy, did you only have the problem at Kenny's? If so, was the temperature either very cold or, god forbid, warmer than usual?
Did you add anything to your marker between the last time you played and when you went to kenny's?

the 98c is extremely consistent out the box, its definitely not the gun.

i had this problem before, check that the 2 screws that hold in the powertube are in tightly (the ones on the right side of the gun) this should fix your problem, simple as that. i had the same thing happen to my 98c and i freaked out.

if that doesn't work get the palmer stabilizer, palmer makes great reliable regs

email me and tell me is that works, don't jump into the autococker frienzy if you are happy with your gun unless money is not an option

out of the box maybe, but i get the impression that neddy's new marker is a second hand one, with lots done to it. which means its far from out of the box, and someones tinkering (god forbid) may have lead to unexpected problems.

and no i havent tinkered with it Tiny!!

By al means make sure the body screws are tight, but id expect you would have already done that.
Jeeves had the right idea, goto pbreview, and read up on what they say.
It might be worth getting a T vert adapter for the foregrip.
Or trading your expansion chamber for a reg.

is there any kinda reg on it at all, at the moment?

It was new out of the box, first time I used it was at Kenny's. I will check all screws, unfortunately i was not using a syphen tube on the day. I did have a new bottle and syphen tube and on/off valve which i bought from fatbobs paintball, but when i went to get it filled with CO2 it leaked. The guys said that the thread of the bottle was not straight and was leaving a gap between the valve and bottle and was not flush. So i had to use a site bottle for the day. Maybe that was the problem.

Personally, I would just save my money and buy a better marker. Stock Cockers cost only about 450 if you get a good deal. For you, I would strongly suggest a cocker, a lot of mods can(will) be done and you'll have a marker you can use if you decide to change you mind and go tournament. Otherwise, just take it to a good pbshop, they usually can find the prob, whatever it is. Good luck.

Neddy, I would suggest you get your new bottle with anti-syphon sorted out a.s.a.p. Also, I suggest looking at a regulator. There is a tippman one and also the PMI ones seem to be alright.

Hope this helps
