if your thinking about getting into woodsball you should come along to diamond wars this month and rent some gear and meet some people and say hi to me while your there
Diamond Wars is a great place to start my advice would be get there early though if you do go to allow time to mingle. Usuallyi have a good hour and a half to get booked in, gear sorted and relax before game start so i get there about 8-8:30

both fractions are friendly and welcoming (USDE a little more so :p) if you do make it down just mingle take the time to look at the different kit and styles which mayhelp you decide what type of kit / play you would liek to branch out into. The expierence of players at big events is vast and everyone is usually helpful.

If its your first big game (thats not a punter day) make sure you bring food and drink along sweets, chocolate, nuts, energy drinks etc.... It can be very tiring and to have a mix of food that will give you instant energy and show burning foods will see you through the day. nothing worse than being exhausted by 2pm.

let usknow if you make it down and im sure people will be more than happy to meet you and introduce - the offers there from me also - I play USDE so ifyou go for HMC youll probably onlysee me on the field.

also if you think scenario is for you try ukscenario site which is more geared for woodsball.

Welcome to the sport and Goodluck

I currently play HMC, the guys and gals at HMC are amazing ! friendly bunch but at the moment we are getting out behinds handed to us ! :(
Come join the revolution and be part of next seasons HMC rampage ;)

Eitherway i wish u good luck with your team selection at Diamond wars if you decide to come (JSpeakers and I both play HMC so if you choose HMC then look for a commander called AJ and then ask for 'Timmy')

In terms of markers i would try to look for a tourney style marker if your interested in trying both sides of the sport out. The main advantages for me that tourney markers have over milsim/scenario is weight, simplicity in maintainence and efficency.

Disadavantage in the woods is having a nice and colourful marker can get scratched (but ur a paintballer so who cares) and sometimes its easier to spot.

Hope that helps :)

PS. DONT scrimp and save on a mask !!! Safety & Comfort first ! :D

Hey guys

Cheers for all the advice, I think I may be able to make it down this sunday - if not, next month!! I shall let you know either way.....

Marker wise, I've got my eye on a Dangerous Power F7 thats going for £30 on a ebay rip-off site.... Tourney style, looks tough enough to go senario with as well! Mask - well, that's already sorted, have got meself a Proto *insert long name here* Thermal, along with an old Halo B :)

As I said, I'll let you know about this sunday - fingers crossed!

Right - the walk on that was this Sunday for the Uni peoples has been canceled ("too cold" was the stock excuse) - So I can actually attend. (Yippie!!) This (annoyingly) now creates another problem - how to get there? I'm up in Stoke On Trent - and know from being a Cov boy that Sutton Coldfield ain't near a station - and the only car I have access to is being used on a flim shoot.... in York. Any advice on that front?

Also, just a quick two more - How much is it (avec rental stuff) and can I bring the bag and a half of paint I have already?

Cheers again, will def go onto the HMC side if I can get there.....

in regard to getting there i'm in the same boat at the moment my usual way of getting there (parents) are busy that day that then leaves me with the option to find a lift post on here see if anyone is going that will be near you offer petrol money im sure they will be happy to take you ? but i gotta get myself a lift yet :/
and it is £60 w/ 2000 paintballs and then £45 per box you buy after that

I can pick you up if you can get to Sutton coldfield mate ?

I usually leave my gaff at 7:30 to get to bassets pole for around 8:00... It'd be no bother to go into Sutton instead, it's basically on the way there if not a tiny bit out of the way. Would still get to NPF with enough time for a bit of scoff and a cuppa before kick-off.

Offers there if you want it buddy.

Diamond wars is site paint only, £60 includes any kit you need with a case of paint included and free tea/coffee all day.
