agreed on david's point, stops any longer hair from flapping about. means when you are lined up behind your bunker there's not a big tuft of hair hanging out giving away how high/low you are
They do hold a little heat, but definitely much more breathable than a hat.

Simple they are cool if you wear them correctly

Out of curiosity what is the correct way to wear one? You can kinda tell when they look right and wrong (with it puffing out or looking a bit square on the head), but at the same time I sometimes struggle to get a smooth fit on my head. Also should your ears be in our out?

definitely a lot cooler wearing one of these than a hat or beanie, unless its in winter, also saves your forehead from glancing paintballs.

Just thought, you want to get yourself one of these, was bloody cold that day, forgot to pack my usual head gear and had this lying in the back of the car.
Excellent ear and forehead protection, warm as a polar bears privates and you could get shoot point blank and not feel a thing
