Have a look at this, and then tell me....

After having seen the video, do you consider paintball extreme?

  • No way, compared to that, paintball is for girls.

Skill and experience come into play, but from personal experience all that really means is the better you get, the faster you are willing to hit things and the bigger the jumps and drop-offs you are willing to take on become.

So Steve, will you be playing football with us tonight, or is that scrape on your shin still troubling you?

i personally descripe paintball as an 'adrenalin sport' yes we are extreamists if you go by the mainstream definition of an an extreme sport....how many sport involve actually shooting at each other!??? but when you put paintball along side those nut cases on that vid and the like then paintball doesnt seem as extreme.

but at the same time yes paintball is definatly an extreme sport....we also have a VERY good safty record and and EXTREMELY low injury count.

paintball.....extreme.....yes

paintballers....nutcases...arguably

safe.......YES!

quite often the guys and gals (some are mighty fine, adele croxon x) that are featured in these vids are at the top of their game (sport) to get to where they are has taken years of riding, face planting and gravel scarred arses. But now they are showing their skills and limits and are forever pushing themselves to get bigger. Paintballers although not throwing ourselves down cobbled streets or off serious drops, still have to put in years to get good. difference being we tend to go home at the end of the day with our arms and legs still in the right places. skills in our sport are still just as hard to master.

Paintball dangerous - no

Paintball extreme- hell yeh

edit no i don't airsoft:rolleyes:

Paintball just doesn't compare to that kinda stuff......kinda puts things into perspective doesn't it?

Oooh look at my nasty welt.

Or

Oooh look I've just dropped 60ft off a cliff and landed testes first on a cross-bar.

If we're classing 'extreme' sports by how likely you are to lose limbs, then I think pb should be classed as an 'alternative' sport - cos lets face it, conventional sports like football or hockey....or even cricket are far more dangerous (paintball @ 200mph = welt, cricket ball @ 100mph = broken bones).

Once rode my mountainbike off a 30 ft sheer drop.
Used to walk that cliff side with my Dad when I was twelve...... steep but do-able drop.

14 years of coastal erosion..........go figure.

Fortunately I hit the ground first so the bike survived (otherwise I'd have had to walk home)
