the best part is that it will cost 50p and then £30 shipping costs
add to that vat and its £35 to ship something i can buy round the corner shop for 30p
You think that's pricey? How about $10,000 for a wad of pre-enjoyed gum?

Click here for the AP story, if you want to.

Or, if you're lazy, a quick version. Luis Gonzalez, a major league hitter, spit out the gum at a practice game last March. It was scooped up, put up for bid on the internet, and eventually sold for $10,000. Wad of pre-enjoyed gum. Yep. Then again, a toothpick once sold for $440 that may or may not have shared molar space with Tom Seaver. And Ty Cobb's false teeth sold once for $8,000.

The punchline to all this is that the site selling the gum (http://www.nocontraction.com/) also had a baseball signed by Gonzo from the world series in '01. That ball sold for $500. Pre-enjoyed gum with Gonzo-slobber, $10,000. Signed ball from the world series, no slobber, $500.

Must be somehting about baseball player spit?

Why is it called the world series anyhow??? I can only see American teams in it. Or did the foreign teams get knocked out in the qualifiying phase of the competition? [/B]
Well, there ARE Canadian team in the MLB. So, technically, it IS an international series. But seeing as there's no euopean teams, and Japan has it's own league....

Oh, BTW, that sig .gif is WAY too big bro. :)
