Halos? Trouble or not!

I honestly think the thing about eyes getting smegged is a load of balls. Both loaders will mash balls with **** paint, and even if the Reloader doesn't have eyes to smeg, your gun still won't do anything when you feed **** into it.

Buy either, they're both great, just make sure it has a rip. I have a Cheetah'd Halo as my primary and a reloader as my back=up. There's no difference, neitehr is more reliable, they're both great...

listen to the man - he speaks the truth ^^^^^^^^^ makes no odds halo - reloader - all the same ..only advantage the reloader has over hte halo is that when you take it to bits its easier to put back together ...but realisticly (sp) if you cant clean a halo/reloader without taking it to bits then stick with eggys ;)

Thanks for the input guys, think I might just go with the Halo, if I can get the spare cash :) I don't mind about the stripping, I'm quite interested by how things work!

Cheers. Luke.

It's not the paint, it's the actual eyes. I've seen two halos in a couple of months just pack up because the eyes fail. They're perfectly clean, they just don't see the paint so they keep trying to feed - and so they jam.

Taken 'em out, cleaned up, put 'em back in, still don't see the paint, still jam.

Apart from that, rock on!

Trouble or not?

Of course they are trouble. They are just the least trouble and best performance I have found among what's available. The Reloader is nice, IMO. The quiet place for activation isn't tough- turn it on inside your bag or something. The newer boards like the Cheetah and the Angry boards seem to work pretty well. A Rip-drive is absolutely necessary, because every piece of equipment will fail sooner or later, and you shouldn't lose games because of it if you can keep your head on straight.

If you get a basic Halo and you have no problems, then fine. If you get problems due to eyes, you can always put a kit in to make it a Reloader or change boards to use an Angry or Cheetah.

Saying all this, I haven't tried the Vlocity yet.

Word, red green red green .... wtf!
The eyes are a pain. I've had 2 halos and a reloader. Both halos caused nuff problems no matter what board or batteries I used.
Since I bought a reloader I have had not a single problem until ym drive cone broke last week. In that time (nearly a year) i've probably changed batteries 3 or 4 times and left my loader on all day whenever being used.

I have a cheetah'd halo and a nromal halo = no trouble

I and a mate have had 3 reloader boards fail in a season, two through the microphones becoming less able to pick up sound, one just plain knackered, wuldn't switch off.

I repeat - I don't think there's anything at all to choose between them. Get whatever comes up with a rip drive cheapest (will be a halo!) - and if you must, buy some spare eyes from planet (£5:88)

Taking them apart isn't rocket science, but there's an easily-gained knack to putting the drive cone back on
