one of my three halos will do this, but only very occaisionally, its a z code, fortunately its also got a rip drive so the solution is to unwind the spring tension and start again,
i cant see any difference between the spring innn that one and either of the others

It's TE.

Anyone know if Odyssey will be at Miami NPPL (I know they are currently at Orlando) as I'll take it there and get it upgraded to a Rip drive to if they are.

So the Z code does unwind the spring when you turn it off? that's cool.

No, it doesn't unwind automatically. He's talking about manually unwinding with the rip drive. That's what I did, too, the one time this happened to me. It happened all day, but never before or since.

I know a fella, has this problem often, and he just took out the spring and chucked it in the weeds. Seems to work ok, but I would have held on to the spring just in case, myself. I believe Halo A was not equiped with the spring, but I could be mistaken.

Skaffen,

I haven't heard from Odessey about it, and they weren't at Miami NPPL to ask either.

I did have less problems with different paint, so I don't know if the RPS shell has something to do with it. I also extended the spring so it wasn't as stiff, therefore less likely to not "give" against a ball. Are you having problems with RPS paint or everything?

But in short, no I haven't fixed it 100%

I have had this problem occasionally too with RPS, tho i never shoot anything else, so i could still have the same problem with other paints... My Halo board is not a Z coded board. My thoughts are that RPS paint has a very 'dry' shell. Other paints feel 'greasy' to touch or have a shiny shell and are therefore more 'slippery'. Possibly that has something to do with balls getting stuck against each other....I've found the only way to clear the stuck ball it is to dump the contents of my loader and flick the wedged ball out. I might try removing the spring next training and see what happens. Without the spring I would imagine problems arising when the paint in the halo starts to get low as there won't be much weight holding the balls in the 'cup' and they might fly out again as it spins, especially when running and shooting??? Anyone else already tried this?

Re the ripdrive... can you wind it both ways? IE can you wind it backwards to unblock a jam? I guess you need to turn it off first to avoid damaging the motor..Is it possible to buy the ripdrive as a separate item? Anyone tried fitting one themselves? This seems like a possible solution....

I've been using Zap - think I've got some other makes knocking around so I'll give them a go.

Tried emailing Odyssey, but no reply so far.

Ripdrives can be wound both ways (oo-er) and Odyssey sell them separately on their website - as for fitting one, I'll let you know in a couple of weeks;) :)
