Halo Reloader B battery problem?

I have upgraded my Halo B to a Halo Reloader B and was wondering if anyone has experienced the following or know the cause:

When the hopper is set to setting 2 or 3 and using the 6 battery pack and Duracell M3's, after feeding about 1400 balls (over 2-3 hours) the hopper just dies.

When you take the pack out the batteries feel warm to the touch, when you use the battery tester on the label (those who use M3's will know what I mean), the tester goes up to 100% (i.e. full charge).

I thought initially that it might be the motor, but if you change the batteries over for fresh ones, the hopper operates as expected.

Anyone got any ideas?

Beware...

This happened to one of our guys HALO's.

His was a normal z-code HALO and not a reloader, but same thing happened.

He kept on using it and eventually (about 2 games later), the board fried..............

Battery pack was hot to the touch. Even melted the plastic around it when the board fried.

it seems

the reloader b's properly munch batteries well quick, colin on our team has one and it works well with new batteries, like goes off in a mild breeze, but then it becomes crap because it just doesnt go off. it seems they need like full batteries to work properly.
and they are more expensive. haha.

It worked fine for most of the day (cos I was using it:D ) then started to die mid game, Ray took the batterys out assuming they were dead but as he said they showed a good charge and were red hot!

I've had no problems with battery life and the Reloader B setup - I normally set it up to run on setting one though - everyone who borrows it asks for it to be set to setting two or three (might be the problem?)

Anyhow

Well I've had a good look around and totally stripped it down.

The battery pack on close inspection shows signs of being heated (glossy, uneven, bubbling finish).

There was alittle bit of dry grass on one of the bearings, but I dont think that would of created enough friction.

No pinched wires - although it looks like at some point a wire was pinched when putting the hopper back together.

The only place where the wire is being pushed hard against the shell is where the battery wire runs along side the battery pack.

I might order a replacement motor as I'm not 100% sure if its showing signs that its being run hot (not sure how much discolouring to the metal casing there should be).

I think I'll have to keep an eye on it.. cheers all.
