right ive been using my halo for a few games and you can hear the motor trying to turn even with plenty of paint in the hopper.

ive done a search, and im pretty sure ive got the oldest board, the one that pulses, so could it be down to the board?
or, im not sure on this, is it the paint, as its half black, so is it like with vision having problems with black paint?

ideas anyone. if its just the paint i can use a different shell, but i dont want my motor burning out.

If the Hopper is trying to turn with a full stack, its sounds like it could be as you described. If the eye is having trouble with the black half, then it will try and spin the paint up.
It will burn your motor out if you dont sort it.
Think Planet do the latest boards for them.

Don't worry - I bought mine new and have never seen a manual either... I think the minute I saw my shiny new halo in its zip-lock bag I dropped the rest of the packaging, and haven't seen it since. :D

There's everything you need to know about Halos on the Odyssey site though...

Sensor Limitations (Black Paint):
The Halo's sensor system works by detecting motion of the ball stack using infrared technology. Some black shelled paints are infrared absorbing so that HALO has difficulty detecting them. Because of this, we do not recommend you use black shelled paint (or half black shell paint) with the HALO. All other colors work fine (including dark blue, purple, etc).

There we go. cheers for the link manike.

one more thing, can anyone confirm to me about the backplate with the z code board, do you need a new one as i read that the board wont fit straight in?
