The GZ is a great gun...my Frankenstein of a gun started out as a GZ...for the same price, you can get a 2002. The main difference is that that GZ is about and inch lower in overall height, and slightly lighter than the 2002. And of course you don't get the display. The SOB board is okay but I'd upgrade to a WAS board if your GZ doesn't come with one installed already.

Why did I upgrade my GZ? Well, I'm a tinkerer and I like having a voltmeter that tells me when I have to change my battery...I hate having to guess. Everything else on the WAS board and that I installed on my gun was just icing on the cake. The trigger on my GZ was sweet, but I've tweaked my current setup so that even with my debounce set to 10, I'm still getting 18 bps, and if I drop my debounce to 2, I can hit 23 bps...not that I really need to shoot that fast...after all, I'm someone who had trouble hitting 10 bps not too long ago, and I seem to get alot of kills when my hopper battery dies and I can only shoot five shots before I have to shake...go figure. Same happens if I have to start a game with a really low chrono...I guess I know I have to work harder for a kill, so I do.

The 2k2 is far superior to the GZ, add the WAS equalizer board and you have the best marker available, (e-bladed cockers, and AKA markers on par of course) I dont understand why the timmys havent grown in popularity much in the UK where in the states, they are the thing to have.

well i think the main reason is that people are "scared" of something new until someone they know buys one and says its the thing to have wich is fine since all new things should be taken in with caution! plus the price is little steeper then in the states!

i just want to add that im now a happy owner of a black to blue ironman timmy :D :D :D

GZ's are a bit tempermental I must admit, my first timmy was a GZ. Had a few velocity problems, etc.

List of recommended upgrades:
-Adjustable ram cap (allows you to adjust the position of the bolt, you can keep the distance the bolt needs to cycle to a minimum, inceasing the speed of the gun)
-Volumizer (Allows you to drop the LPR pressure and keeps your velocity consistent when shooting fast strings. Decreases your recoil too.)
-High Flow Barbs (More efficient flow of air to the gun)
-WAS Equalizer board (Best board available, enough said)

Maintenance:
-Lube the o-rings of your bolt with a very thin film of DOW 55 before every use

-Lube the ram o-rings every 2-4 cases of paint with DOW 55

-Everything else, dont bother doing yourself unless you're a tech, or you're f#$&^.

Hope this helps. Hope your friend enjoys his timmy.

dude the timmys are so easy to fix...im no tech by any mark...but there so easy to work on its untrue. ive done everthing to my timmy my self.you open it up and ye ye think **** mass of wires.but you get the full hand book off bobs site and its all there strip to re-build.
