what MadDog said is nearly right, to build muscle you need to eat 1.5-2 times for body weight in lbs and also eat enough quality carbs + good fat, your daily diet should add up to a 40%/40%/20% split of protein/carbs/fats. You also need to eat enough calories to fuel your body, so take your body weight in lbs and times it by 17 and that'll be a good average. its gotta be quality food though, dont eat a bigmac and think hey, i've just eat 1000 cals.
