Don't get me wrong, I still love the game. The problem lies in that I just don't cut the mustard anymore [thats if I ever did]. Flinging paint is serious fun, but in todays game it seems to be who can fling the most paint the fastest and this makes my old woodland position redundent..
I'll give sup-air a try at temple on the 10th, if this doesn't bring me any joy then its 'see ya paintball'. I'll still go to the big games as these are fun and i can still play the 'lone-wolf' role, but whats the point of owning all the gear if I only get to play a few times a year. might as well sell the dark and buy a tippy or spyder.
Also it wasn't the mugging that made me think this [even though it was the first time it has ever happened to me]. this just made me think 'Oh my god I'd never have the balls to even attempt that'.

TL sweetie, please think again. I'm a fair bit older than you, definitely slower, lots wider & I too never mug people especially not on sup'air - classic back player & always have been. Never evenset foot on an airball field until Campaign last year (which is when I came out of a 5 year retirement).
BUT........ it didn't take me too long to adjust to "modern" play & though I doubt if I will ever get back to where I was 6-8 years ago, let alone be really good, I'm still having a great time & loving every minute of it.

Nope we had a nice little rec-ball site near me which used to run pumps up until last year.
Stock class was all about the hunt and you needed skill to get an elimination, pumps was all about the hunt just a little bit faster. Semi's have killed it for me. its all about who can fire the most paint in the least amount of time.
Hell in the good old days i used to go out with a test tube with 10 shots and that was it. now adays i have to go out with seven pots and a hopper full of paint just incase I get into a paint-fest.
Sod it the more I think about it the more I seem to think about jacking it in.
Anybody know wheres theres a good hang-gliding Forum? [That looks like fun]

oh no another ego burnout

hey tortoise dont loose the plot,we all have a brush with burnout.you do play well,you have a laugh,you get the chance to rip the piss out of fennys.
if you are not enjoying a type of balling dont waste cash doing it try other sites and groups of players,belive me it works.we all started playing because it was FUN.
if you like woods ,play them

Or even better, come to a few apoc training sessions,
We mostly do hopper ball (saves cash)
And above all else we have a laugh and chill with it.

And Cambridge aint that far from yarmouth :)

Next one is 3rd Nov (this sunday) and pretty much every fortnight.

Now all i gotta do is get the bloody tree out of the safe area and rebuild it by sunday, Pah and i thought the wind had missed me :)

Oh and little tone, i notice u in peterbourgh, u and friends etc are more than welcome along too.
