I've let it go, seemed the right thing to do. It would be good though to see the moth as it has a 3 - 4 inch wingspan.

Your right mate...lets face it, you would have been jealous...wouldn't you?

Keeping it in a glass jar on your window sill, we have learned, may not be the bet place for it...so letting it go, seems better.

You have it at 1 inch to start with so make that 2 inches

Edit actually it looks to go to about 3.5 so thats 2.5?

it was moving when i took the photo, when it was still it measured 78mm (3 1/8")
