Thanks, Is the Etek 4 easy to maintain? If I bought a marker am I able to rent things like air bottle, hopper? until I buy one?

Or should I buy Goggles, Air Bottle and Hopper first then look at buying a marker cause looking at around £300 end of august then probs another 200 end of sept

Not sure you can rent all that stuff, unless you have some kind mates :)

Goggles first yes, then yes just save up for the rest. As for easy to maintain, yes, but as with all markers, you will need to do some research and watch a few vids to get a bit more clued up on your purchase.

A Halo too is a good hopper, about £60 new or a secondhand bargain, add a standard 3000psi cylinder for about £30 / £40

Regarding paint 'good' is subjective.

You get basic paint at rental sites, which may or may not be stored well.
Every paint has a range of grades, generaly from rental to tournament and possibly a 'premium tournament'

Rental / basic paint is cheap and cheerful but will probably bounce
Tournament grade is very fragile. Designed to break on any impact, but if the gun is hard on it then you get the breaks in the gun. Play in the woods and it will be bursting on blades of grass

For general play or for hardy guns you want a mid range paint so you get breaks on target but it survives long enough to get shot and pass some grass

There is also winter grade. This is better designed for cold weather but tough and bouncy in warmer weather

Thanks Tom.

So "Good" paint is personal preference? buying paintball gear is like a minefield!! So much stuff to bare in mind!!

Really stupid question but whats the difference between 3000psi and 4500 psi?

1500 psi :)

It's basically a higher pressure of air that goes in your tank, there are both 3,000 and 4,500 psi tanks. You get more shots from higher pressure tanks, because it takes X amount of psi to effectively fire a paintball and cycle the bolt.

Personally I have 4,500 psi tanks, because even at fields that have only 3K fills, you can still put 3k into a 4500 tank. Cannot go the other way. Things blow up.

Get the Etek and a decent hopper like a second hand Rotor in black or a colour match your marker(Black matches everything and is easier to sell on, you can get colour accent kits)
Bottles come in 3000 psi or 4500 ,it all depends where you are going to play or get fills from.
Punter sites are mainly 3000 ,big games ,dive shops or air rifle shops can usually fill to 4500.
The bigger the bottle/ higher capacity = more shots, down side is more weight.
Cost is a factor too, alloy bottles 3000 psi are cheaper than Carbon wrapped bottles have a look in the air section of the forum it explains it.
