Gun only shoots up

I just bought a used Spyder Pilot ACS, I believe it's an '05 model. Everything on the gun worked great (Semi, Burst, Auto). I ran into some trouble when my CO2 began to run out, and then the gun sped up to ridiculous speeds and I just turned it off. Since then I've had trouble firing it. It only likes to fire consistently when pointed up, otherwise I get a shot of CO2 only once per 4 shots or so. The only think I can think of is some kind of pinch or something in the air system. Any ideas?

Normally when ur Co2 is running out ur bolt will move back and forwards really quickly im not sure wot causes that but i had it on my Pilot and it didnt do any further damage, but as for the gun only firing when pointed up i think that may have somethin to do with ur bolt, im no expert jus wot i think

If your low on CO2 it'll make a fart noice, "speeding up" as you described it.

Are you still the same bottle?

Edit: I suspect that it'll only shoot when pointed upwards because the warmest and least dense CO2 will rise to asa and be able to cycle through the gun.

Yer it will do that becuase there is not enough pressure in the bottle to re-cock the gun properly...

You will need to go to your local site/store and get you co2 bottle refilled before you can use it properly again

Could it not be a minor leak caused by the bolt shootin back and forth breakin a o ring causin lack of pressure

Possibly but v.unlikely, co2 markers almost always "fart" the gun fires uncontrobably very fast when they are low on Co2, look at any site marker or listen even...

would go for co2 being the most likely cause befroe an o-ring but i no epxert on these guns...

Depends how much Co2 he got left in tank i suppose

Yerr ive heard it before, thats the big problem with Co2, u never know how much pressure u got left, but i suppose u cud feel the difference because Co2 is measured in weight

Empty tank out completely by either depressing pin valve, or opening the on/off tap if fitted. Make sure you do it outdoors (well ventilated area), and take care not to get frost burns from the freeziing CO2.

Weigh empty bottle on a set of scales - digital ones preferably

20oz added to that weight will give you a full bottle total

I used to fill my bottles sat on a set of scales. That way we could zero the reading as they dumped down (chilled), and than watch the weight climb as they were filled - avoiding over/under filling.

You need some sort of anti-syphon, remote and expansion chamber to try and prevent the gun from pulling liquid CO2. Other wise the velocity will keep jumping - going hot if set-up on gas, and the gun will also freeze down quickly leading to poor prerformance.

A better long term solution may be to switch to HP air?
