Hi there all, hope your all well.

Basically I'm fairly new to paintball (only played 5-6 imes but I'm addiceted!) and I've decided to dive right in and buy all my own gear so I can start atending events and what not. I've pre-ordered he Tiberius T15 and I'm hoping to have that with me in the next 2-3 weeks along with all the kit I need.

That I'm all pretty happy with. My problem is this.. My nephew also comes with me and he also loves it! Due to various circumstances and the fact he's only 15 he cant afford to buy his own stuff so I have offered to help get his gear. Looking on a paintball store website (not sure if I'm allowed to mention the name..? JP if anyone is interested**) I've found a nice looking starter kit with gun, hopper, tank, mask and a few other gubbins for around the £150 mark. Not bad I'd say.

I've looked at a few reviews for the gun and apparently other then being a bit heavy its a very decent beginners gun. One guy said though that the accuracy isnt great but could be improved with an aftermarket barrel.
My question is this:

What barrel should I put on there to improve the accuracy and maybe even the range. Also, in the future, what upgrades could I put on it to spruce it up and imprive it a bit?

Thanks in advance guys, I appreciate any help you can give me.

** Other paintball stores are available :D

Sadly I cant Liam mate, I'm on works PC and sadly just paintball is a restricted site. But its in the deals section and then beginner marker. Its £150 or there about.

Dave, what would you suggest then mate? We play in the woods and he wants something realistic looking.

Thanks for he response guys

Aye that's the one spookls, top man, thanks. So do you suggest avoiding that? I just thought its everything there he needs to start. If not that, what would you suggest?

I'm guessing as you're saying its realistic looking that its the bt omega package which is around 150 quid,
Firstly the mask in the package is worse than some rental masks so if i was you i would try and get him a better mask even if its a second hand pro flex off here (they go fairly cheap)
Secondly you don't really want to be running your gun on o2 as it can freeze orings unless it has an anti syphon tube inside which you'd have to pay extra to get fitted, You ideally want to be running your gun on hpa (high pressure air)
If your looking for something realistic there are multiple options but these can stretch to insane amounts of money, i would recommend a tippmann sierra one which retail for around 130 pounds, however these are internally the same as a tippmann 98 so you won't get any real difference from using a rental marker,
If you head over to : http://www.ukscenario.com/forum/
Im sure someone on there is probably willing to sell an x7 or something like that on there for around this amount as more of the guns on there look more "Militaristic" and there are always people on there willing to sell there markers,
the hopper in the package should be fine however even upgrading to a proto primo which is 13 pounds it is still gravity fed but has a shelf to reduce pressure on the balls so theres less of a chance of chopping paint,
If you like the bt guns id say go for the bt delta as i know multiple people who use them and have nothing but praise for them or if you prefer the look of the "M16 Omega" then JP do one with an Apex Barrel for 144 pounds which should be fine as the apex barrel is perfect for woods ball,
ou may even be able to pick up a BT Delta second hand off ukscenario

Hope this helps :)
Liam,

The key point to avoid (depending on where you play*) is the co2 cylinder
The propellant of choice is compressed air, and you could upgrade any package to a standard 3000psi aluminium cylinder for not a lot of money
(On its own it would cost £30 to £40)

If you play at a primarily punter site, such as delta force sites then they operate on co2, if you go to an event, or sites that cater for walkon players then they will operate compressed air
(Even if you do play at co2 only sites they will be willing to lend you a co2 cylinder)

The omega is ok. If you ring jp they will probably customize you a deal, or also shop around with the other shops
Eg bz paintball have a similarly priced gog enemy package, with air already in the price and this will give a lighter, and 'ergonomic' gun

Thanks guys, plenty of great advice there :) looks like I'll keep my eyes open for an x7 then :)

Just out of interest, this is probably a really noob question, but do you need a different type of tank for different types of air? Or does your average tank run either? Thanks again guys
