XBOX's have a tendency to not read discs at times, the same happened to one of my mates after getting it repaired

No.. the screen with xbox and microsoft came up and stays there. microsoft is supposed to come up before the music stops or you're buggered... and it doesn'tSwitched off at the wall
! Other games work..

Does the disc read error apply only to GHTP only or other discs including dvds and music cds?

How about hitting the xbox?...infact go one better hit the technician with the xbox, that one works much better and is more satisfying, dont worry the xbox it wont even get a dent

Hope all goes well with that, its a shame i don't know more about the xbox's workings.
Still, i do know that some people have trouble loading some discs, i mean like 3 of my mates cant load, spectrum warrior? Some gun game like that, it would just be how the xbox is.

Yes, the xbox is terrible, it is near indestructible but the internals are unreliable prime example 75% of all xbox power cables messed up, not working or something. But in saying its indestructible in some video testing the gamecube was the 'safest' of them all and survived all destructive tests .
Also i havnt got GHTP/GHTPM so i wouldnt know how hard it is go without it, i can imagine its hard, it looks amazing .
