Dont even dream to expect the PS3 to come out over here before next christmas at the earliest.... and even then expect awful stock levels in a standard sony style.

Yeah, right.... belive that and you'll belive anything. Sony have not given any official press releases to indicate a certain release date, that website is making porkies. Sony havnt even demonstrated a single playable title to the media, not even shown off the final controller design, just lots of smoke and mirrors pre-rendered tech demos. Maybe they'll finally pull their finger out at the forcoming PS Festival.
Very few developers have even got dev kits, let alone the final ones with the final Cell spec and nVidia chip. Fair enough, it might roll out in Japan in its standard Playstation launch window around March, but i wouldn't expect to see it come out in the US until september (same time as Halo2) and as i said expect a usual Sony pathetic & limp understocked UK release just before christmas.
The whole 'Spring 2006' thing came from E3 this year, they never said where. Maybe Sony will prove me wrong.. doubt it
PS. Sony are having enough problems producing the Cell chips that they have advised developers to program allowing for only 7 of the 8 cores to be functional.

Yeah they may not have anything playable but devs at bandai co are working on devil may cry 4 to bring it out as soon a poss and the are a hole bundle of games coming look on ign.com under ps3. and sure they have had problems in stocking in the uk but they might have learnt from there mistakes

'spring' is not a certain launch date. That is just the same release from E3, it doesn't mention any imformation as to where it might be launched within that vague and flexible time window.
As regarding what games are in development for the PS3, there really isnt that much that is 100% confirmed, just a lot of guesstimates (based on tech demos) on which tired and rehashed squels that might come out in the first generation. There are a few confirmed original titles but nothing to intrest me. I know for a fact how few devlopers have their hands on final devkits and recently a fair few developers have been jumping ship to Xbox360 due to the cost and complexity involved in producing games.
Sony have said that they are keeping an eye on 360 sales and its been fairly widely publicised that if the 360 doesnt sell that well then they'll probably do an extremely agressive price-cut on the PS2 and put the launch date of PS3 back a bit so they can launch at a more competitive price. You bet your bottom dollar that the PS3 with both Cell and Blu-Ray is not going to be anywhere like mass market price if under the unlikely chance it hits the UK in the first half of the year.

Just so you guys know even if you get a xbox 360 with hard drive does not mean it will be backward compatible with all games. It will start with only the really popular ones like halo 1&2 then hopefully expand. This is simply because a new emulator has to be made for each game.
Either way I am still getting a 360, and guess what due to some fancy connections I have, i have already had a chance to touch one, unfortunately not play on one just because not even big Bill gates can do that yet I don't think.

where did you get it from?
John- A new emulator doesnt have to be made for each game, a new "Emulation Profile" has to be made, these should be available on xbox live and stuff (will be free to anyone, even without a xbox live gold sub) and should be quite frequent.
Im still hoping i get my 360, had 2 preorder at dixons of all places, dude sez i should have one on the day tho.
