not agreeing with goggles being up at the start of games, but wasn't this brought up before and the reason given by the person in question was that they were starting the game and in order for their voice to carry they kept they're goggles up. not somthing i would reccomend as previously mentioned there are a lot of electro triggers that are more than happy to spit out an eyeball destroyer!

if it was me i'd have my goggles on as soon as guns could potentially be live, only get one set of eyes.

spose it's a judgement call by the person in question, not good for players with consciences

I my self have at times made the 10 second call with my gogs up as said this is so the teams can hear then put them staight down well befor game on.
No player or marshall will be upset if you name them on the net if you are not haveing a go but makeing a valid point.
Just remember that they will get upset it you use there name while posting under names like unamed , agb or the like.
This is not a dig at you but if you want to name them then they should at least know who you are.. :D

Well my names Alec Bowen an i'm not naming because i don't know who it was, my point was general not aimed at a particular individual, i just used an example from a previous thread. Not telling marshalls how to do their thang because thats up to them, just saying for my personnel protection i would wear my goggles, if teams had problems hearing, then voice start should be substituted for another audible signal- anyways thats the start of a whole other thread. if peeps thought i was dissin them- well i ain't, thats not my style. it's all about the love:D

I am not trying to be anonymous! I run National Paintball Parks (Hence NPP) my name is Jason and I have been playing ball for almost 18 years and currently play for the Roughnecks.

If ultimates feel that for their signals to carry the teams requires them to lift their goggles then we need a new signal. Any person within a game area should NEVER lift their goggles. Players forget barrel socks, marshals tell players they can take them off without seeing other marshals with their goggles up, people make mistakes.

For example, at the last M25 events, players waited between the game areas prior to each game. A great system that kept the games rolling through and on time, however, all players should have their goggles on prior to entering this area, let alone the game areas!

When it boils down to it, people seem adamant that there are occasions when people should be allowed to lift their goggles. I for one think this is wrong, and accidents will happen, it's just a question of when not if. This is not aimed at any individual, we just need to prevent player apathy when it comes to safety. If you take your goggles off you will lose an eye.
