But...I.....DAMMIT!!!

As far as bruises counting towards injuries, and paintball then becoming the number one injury prone sport, I doubt it. I have played a number of sports that'll give you way more bruises than a full day's balling. Think about it, if you get shot out every game, that'll usually be three bruises per game maximum. Football (Yankee style) gives you that number of bruises per play, rugby I would imagine will do the same. Ever looked at the shins of a skateboarder? Not nice.
Face it. We don't play an extreme sport, we're just a bunch of grown ups(ish) that have found a great excuse to play tags! :D

Bruises? Try three rounds with a very bendy Singaporean who figured that the best way to stop you blocking is completely numbing your arms and legs with roundhouse kicks! I looked like one of those bananas that gets left at the bottom of the box in the supermarket . . .

Poor Jinxy:( . I can promise it isn't intentional (at least not on my part anyway).

If you want sporting injuries, try horse riding. I've had various sprains & bruises, broken my nose twice, dislocated my shoulder twice, put my spine & pelvis out a few times.......
There was a spate of deaths & permanent crippling a couple of years back in 3-day eventing & cross-country events, mainly due to the horse throwing the rider up against the fence & falling against them, thereby crushing the rider - verrry nasty! And Christopher Reeve (ex-Superman actor) isn't the only person to be completely paralysed from a fall.

This is why I asked about whether we were talking about total injuries or per number of people that take part. Many multiples more people play golf than do horseriding at any level at all, let alone competitively.
