Ok, if this has been asked and answered, I apologize, but I couldn't find it with a search and thought I would seek a few opinions here. I have been reading recently about "Peak Oil" and the theory that the world is about to start using significantly more oil than it is producing or has to produce. At this point, supposedly, we will begin seeing major shortages in food as production becomes cost prohibitive as well as less energy for other things such as driving H2's and having the thermostat set at 80 all winter long. Some speculate that this will lead to major worldwide loss of life and others think that the loss of life will be negligible but the quality of life for hundreds of millions will be drastically reduced. Everything that I have read puts this either occurring as I type, or within the next 10 years. Can anybody out there give me concrete evidence that this is all "end of the world" hysteria so I can stick my head back in the sand and stop worrying about cycling to work?
